It may be prophetic - if you follow T for Tuesday you will know in my last post I made a lament to the fact I am now in a redeployment pool at work - I wont rave on here - but my "work desk" today is quite clearly giving me a message... rather than photograph an empty desk I dragged out my drawer full of die cuts and stamped images and the first thing my hand landed on was Thanks...
I moved my big jar of licorice bullets out of the way and grabbed some chevrons
- cut using my sisters new "prize" from Pixies Snippets Playground...
the theme this week is THANKS
Thanks for the almost 16 years of employment I have had where I am [so far]...
Thanks to my wonderful sister & her fab husband who paid a plumber to fix all my leaking taps...
Thanks to friends who have recently come into my life and show that they really care...
Thanks to my new on-line friends who share their creativity and good wishes on all occasions...
Thanks for my daughter who after 8 years of trying finally made an appearance -
and I am very thankful she is now almost 18 years old...
Thanks to ME for having the foresight to build up a stash that will get me though any lean times ahead and keep me creating for a long time to come...
Finally - Thanks for stopping by... Mxx
And 'Thank you' for a lovely post! This is a lovely positive approach. I wish you all the good fortune possible and lots of happy crafting! Julie Ann xx #41
ReplyDeleteThanks. This post made my day. Thank you for reminding me that there is always so much to be thankful for.
ReplyDeleteGreat post, you are obviously a glass half full type of person, and I sincerely hope that your approach to life will pay off and you keep your job. Happy WOYWW Annette #5
ReplyDeleteLovely post Mo, it's good to remember all we have to be thankful for, as each and every day is precious :) Love you, Cathy x
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear about your situation, Maureen. It's heartbreaking and you should allow yourself some time to grieve. That's a long time in one place and it's a loss. I send loads of positive vibes your way that you will find something else quickly, something where you are appreciated and happy!
ReplyDeleteYour card is lovely! All the best! Darnell #12
Thank you M for reminding me that there is much to be thankful for. I sometimes forget this. Your positivity is a great example to us all. Crafting keeps me sane and happy even in the lowest points and all my lovely online friends have guided me through the rough patch I had at the start of the year. So thank you again. Cx #31
ReplyDeleteThere is always so much in our lives to be thankful for and your positive outlook as seen here in your post today is sure to get you through any rough patches you may encounter in the road ahead. Loving the sneak peak on your desk at your caddy and wonderful stash of flowers too! Happy WOYWW! Danie #14
ReplyDelete1st, let me say TY for stopping by my desk for a visit. This is my 1st time here, what a really wonderful post. Sometimes life can throw a lot of crap at us and it can be down right difficult, I think we sometimes need to stop and reflect, be thankful of the little things, and the people who make the difficult times easier to bare. Your post gave me some food for thought, THANKS!!! :D I'm now a follower!! WOO HOO…. Happy Hump Day!!! (((HUGS)))

Oh Maureen, as Darnell says - I hope so much you will find somewhere else to be happy, if it comes to that. There's an expression 'As one door closes, another one opens' - I hope someone is standing right behind that other door ready to whip it open if you need them to!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Di xxi
Well done you - there's a lot to be thankful for isnt their, even in the face of some unknowns..stay positive, a new path may be just the thing.
ReplyDeleteI love all your "thanks" and the card is super too. Thanks for visiting me this week BJ#85
ReplyDeleteMy husband was made redundant at the age of 56 a couple of years ago..we thought it would be the end of the world..but it's amazing how a new chapter begins. Karma will happen, you WILL be fine and happy. Give your daughter lots of hugs if she'll let you. As Di said, one door closes, another opens....
ReplyDeleteAnd on a crafty note, you get to really study your stash and make blooming good use of it!!! Make do and mend, as they said in WW2!!
Sending big supporting hugs to you,
LLJ 57 xx
Thank YOU for stopping by my site and leaving a comment. You commented on 'a butterfly'; think if you explore my site a bit further you'll find more than one - and some birds too!
ReplyDeleteThere is indeed always something to be thankful for. Even in some of my darkest moments, I've known the presence of God, His love, and His provision. I'm thankful too for family and friends.
Praying that your job situation takes an upward turn,
blessings,

Great post, and wish you well. The OH was on redemployment, it stank - he has now opened up his own company again and gone self employed, just on his first contract in nine years.
ReplyDeleteWish you well, and love your thanks post - thanks for sharing

Well that is some hard news. Way to go, counting your blessings, things to be truly grateful for, and thank you for reminding me to be grateful, as well.
ReplyDeleteThank you for a great post, my woyww friend!

Keep positive Maureen, these things happen for the best sometimes. I was made redundant out of the blue nine years ago and fell on my feet at a much better company with nicer people, interesting work and better pay. I really hope the same happens to you. In the mean time, keep on crafting!

Chevrons are great - aren't they? So glad to hear all the positives you are thankful for. :-) April #122
ReplyDeleteI love to create with what ever my hand falls on and it's always a wonder to see what we can make out of it. I'm sure something better is right around the corner from yah.
ReplyDeleteAlso I find creating ATC's and tags a great way to use up all those tiny scraps plus you can add them to a card too :)
