WOYWW #210

I now know how you girls do it - you create your posts then wait for the lovely Julia to open up the starting gates... so I am giving that a go this week.

I am on holidays and my wonderful sister Cathy [cathyscardspot] came to stay and we traipsed off to the Brisbane Papercraft show on Saturday - so my desk is actually to show off all the little goodies I bought...
I did try to convince her to add her stash but she wouldn't be in it LOL... probably wouldn't fit on my desk anyways!!
So we start with some new Twinkling H20's hidden there, some new distress ink pads, a stazon as my old one is way past salvation, a few dies [5] - including a dream catcher - couldn't believe it - you will see the results it gives later, a stencil, and finally but not from the craft show - from the lifeline book fair - some old sheet music - my sister and I were caught arguing over some "I found it first - no I did - its mine - no its mine" and a young man came past and said "That's why you should come on your own!" - now he can share his experience of seeing two old ladies fighting over sheet music -  LOL!!
Well we both ended up with some but I think I may be reluctant to pull apart the Yellow Brick Road book - cannot believe its 40 years old!! And the ballet book behind it could be bought new for 3'6 - can't find a date on it but its older than me!! Here is another view...
And after all that we get home exhausted - but not so much that we could pass up dinner with my gorgeous cousin Ross at a Hot Pot restaurant - a new experience for both my sister and I - cooking slithers of raw meat and vegies in a pot of soup at the table but oh so yummy!! Cathy went home Sunday morning and I went off to the movies to finally see Star Trek Into Darkness with a fabulous friend - It was amazing - def a must see on the big screen experience!!

Home and relaxed after that whirlwind - and guess who has a full on head cold and has slept away 2 days worth of creativity? ME!! Sad really - I think the only thing that stirred me up was the random knock on the door by a salesman, then the silly fire alarm going off cos I had the clothes drier on and the whole house is steamy, and finally - its WOYWW... couldn't miss that... LOL... hope my energy levels pick up so I can start using some of my new stash!!

If you want to see more crafty creative people around the world pop over to the lovely Julia's at the Stamping Ground and take a gander... her dedication to providing a forum for people to share their creativity has been deservedly recognised in print in "featuring magazine" which is a full blown artsy journal...

Thanks for stopping by... Mxx

  4. Looks like you had fun at the show - I often feel worn out and can't craft afterwards, I think it's seeing all the creativity there that does it! Hope you feel better soon... Helen, 13

  6. Love your stash and the white organiser at the back! Doesn't it make you feel great when you buy art/craft stuff and when you get it home you put it all on your desk and just admire your haul....or is that just me lol. Your poor thing, I know how you feel as I have been laid low with the dreaded wog too. Hate being sick, takes up too much time. Hope you feel better soon. Have a great week and happy WOYWW. 14. I so wish my Sis and I could fight at a craft fair. It's been too long since I've seen her. Love your goodie selection. Sounds like it was fun, despite the altercation over sheet music....
    :)

  16. Oh dear, I just almost cried laughing here. I'd totally forgotten that you and Cathy were sisters - and had such a sense of deja vu reading your post, cos I'd already read a bit over at Cathy's :)

  17. Hi Maudie, sorry to read you aren't feeling too good ... it's got to be bad if you haven't been playing with all those lovely new goodies. Had a chuckle over the vision of you and your sister fighting over the sheet music ... it must have been something for that young man to comment - shame on you both :) Hope you are up and about and crafting again soon. 19. Such fun you guys had! Love the haul! Distress is my favorite, and the old books and sheet music! My poor hubby sits and cringes when I find an old book and start tearing it apart, he would feel your way about not wanting to rip it apart! He made me a bday card last year and photocopied a dictionary page so he could rip it..so funny! Enjoy the day!! Feel good! Winnie#79

Happy WOYWW thanks for popping by to say hi

  30. Hope you're feeling much better by now...sometimes you just don't need the door knockers, huh! You missed Annette at the same show (Voodoo Vixen)..I wonder how far apart you are IRL! Like what you bought - real lovelies. it's good that you went with your sissy - that way, you CAN argue about the stuff...if you'd gone with a friend, you may have felt obliged to stay polite!!

  31. It seems so weird that you are in Brisbane too and went to the Expo! I am glad we decided to go on the Monday, even if it did rain all day, because it wasn't overly busy and you could see all the stuff on the stands. Looks like you and your sister had a great time, and you both ended up with sheet music, so no harm done! LOL Annette #7

  33. Hope you are feeling much better. Great fun to attend a craft fair, especially with a Sis or perhaps a friend. You all have me fired up to attend the next one in my area. You have some wonderful new stash. And a funny story to remember the day, a small disagreement you can laugh at over the years. "Remember when we....". #121
