Good Luck Scene

I die cut this window a few weeks ago to see what it came out like - and it was fine but then when I decided to use it I thought how could I make it different from all the other window cards out there...
I thought it made a good doorway - through which the ocean could be seen rolling up on a pristine beach - the sort we all dream about escaping to for relaxation - it gave me a chance to use my watercolour pencils again...

Materials used: Spellbinders Window One die, Derwent Watercolour pencils, Aquapens, black glimmer base card watercolour paper and sticker from stash.

T for Tuesday #11

Had a knock on the door this week and it was a pollster from the Ray Mogan company - they are the polls that are used in Australia for statistics etc - never done one before so thought I would give it a go... apart from the 100 or so questions face to face they left the below blue booklet for me to complete when I have a few minutes to spare LOL

Haven't even opened the cover yet - too much like hard work!!

The red win $1000 is our shop called Target asking for customer feedback online - another thing the internet is stopping me from doing...

And the boring old drink of choice for 9.20PM is ... you guessed it water!!

If you would like to join in on a cuppa and a chat - pop on over to Altered Book Lover - you don't have to drink T to join in the fun!!

Wedding card V & N

Was asked to do a wedding card for a couple who have already been together 20 years!!!
So I decided not to use white on white but green & white...

Materials used: I picked up a Maya Road mask on a scrap mag and thought it was perfect for the background so I used pear blossom Twinkling H20's as the colour for all the green bits, Die-namics label die, Sizzix alphabet die, Ezi-cut floral & heart dies, Marianne creatables stem die, white linen card from stash.

One for Cathy

Am quickly posting this pic of a mask [stencil] that came free with a craft magazine to see if Cathy wants one... its a scrapbooking ideas mag and it cost $10... but after seeing this 3 different times I couldn't resist the stencil!!!

I am using it to make a wedding card which I will post tonight - let me know if you want one cos I would have to try tomorrow to find another one... Mxx

WOYWW #224

Hi everyone - if you would like to join in on WOYWW pop on over to Stamping Ground and Julia will give you all the deets...

Apologies first up to those that popped by last week - my pc issues appear to be on the mend however there are blogger issues out & about - my sister in northern NSW - as well as others in the UK have also told me of issues with the try again Ignore warning messages... so I am gonna persevere...

Here is my desk right now...
I have been really lazy had a creative block for nearly two weeks - luckily it coincided with the internet issues LOL - but am hoping my mojo kicks back in - I have been asked to do 10 personalised chrissy cards, a wedding card and a "vein removal" !! card... so I better get my skates on...

I am starting with the wedding card using a die I got really cheap at lincraft the other week - and the spellbinder window and medallion diecut are still on my desk... I relented and bought 2 rolls of printed "masking tape" - I am thinking very similar to washi which I have managed to avoid so far...

My watercolour card is still there - not quite right yet - and I went and got myself a set of watercolour pencils to help move things along - its my Chrissy present!!!! They fit perfectly in my carousel

I got a nice surprise when I stepped outside earlier today so quickly grabbed the camera...

This "baby" Kookaburra sat there for about 5 minutes and just as I took a 3rd shot "she" decided that was enough - I had to keep Smokey at bay while doing this as the back door was wide open - she was not impressed LOL...

That's it for me - hope you all have a fantastic week - hugs...

Thanks for stopping by... Mxx

EDIT: Just had to delete 3 other versions of this post - due to blogger issues and it took almost 90 minutes to finish due to internet buffer issues... whew - at least I got my fix!!

T for Tuesday #10

I missed last week - due to PC issues but I wanted to persevere this week and post no matter how long it takes.... my choice is water again - it is midnight right now - have been on the pc for an hour so far ...

I am still working on a watercolour card I started 2 weeks ago - still not happy - but it is getting there - to help me finish it I went to our Art shop named RIOT and got myself a set of 72 watercolour pencils - that's my Christmas taken care of!!!

I moved out a container of chalks I had in the middle of my carousel and with a little construction to raise the base level popped in the new pencils - ooooh I love them... I added the 24 I already had and there is still room for more... love my carousel don't know how I worked without it...

Here is a close up of the progress - mmm - just not sure what its gonna end up like - but the process is fun...

If you would like to have a quick cuppa and a chat pop on over to Altered Book Lover and catch up with the rest of the creative lovelies...

WOYWW #223

Hideho - haven't posted anything since last week - and only just managed to visit those that popped by... Here is my desk at the moment...

The optical page is the back of some junk mail from a real estate agent - lol - don't know why they thought this would be good to have on their stuff!! Some die cuts done in blue so I could see how they look as I haven't used them yet... my watercolour pencils, colour wheel, and a couple of cards in progress...

Wow - that was quick... if you would like to know what how and where to join in on the Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday - pop on over to Stamping Ground and our hostess Julia Dunnit has all the details...

Promise next week will be better as I am on leave for a few days...

WOYWW #222

Anyone remember that show Room 222?? I used to love that show - am I showing my age!!

Anyhoo - its WOYWW time and I am rushing to post before I fall asleep LOL...

I had very positive responses to a card I created using inks and watercolour pencils during the week  - it was my first attempt at what I have labelled "freehand" painting... IRL people have commented it looks like a "printed scene"... I assure you its not!
You can see the details HERE...

So I am having another go and this is what is on my work desk right now...
At this stage only versacolor, Stampin Up and distress inks have been used...
I will tweak with my artists watercolour pencils and aqua brushes shortly...
I have this one pegged as a path through a forest  scene... will post properly when its all done...

And finally my little Smokey is getting very irritated at having to move off my work desk - which is weird as it is only the 2nd time I have had to get her to shift... here she is giving me one of her looks!!

If you would like to know more about this weekly jaunt around creative desks of the world pop on over to Stamping Ground where our lovely hostess Julia Dunnit will give you all the goss!!

T for Tuesday #8

A bit late but due to PC issues...

I just couldn't resist buying another crafty magazine... this time it had some really good stamps for free - am gonna have fun playing with them - and I also grabbed a paperpad - don't need papers but it was soooo cheap.... I have already started a house card for a friend who just moved house...

That's about it this week - oh and the drink of choice is water - never seem to have enough of the stuff....

I had to move a very cranky little girl off my desk too - which is weird cos she usually doesn't go near my desk stuff... here she is giving me one of her Smokey looks.
And I checked - no little deposits this week LOL.

That's it for me this time... if you would like to join some happy crafty people for a cuppa and a chat hop on over to Altered Book Lover where Bleubeard and Elizabeth will make you feel right at home...

Inks & Watercolour Pencils

So I have now finished my little go at freehand painting - I added another layer of green & white to the mountains and then added the sentiment - crooked of course so then I had to trim the card around 3 sides to make the sentiment straight[er] - LOL...

Materials Used: Pale blue base card distressed with 2 shades of blue from a Color Box Rainbow Paintbox ink pads, then Shabby Shutters DI around the base and lower edges, Faber Castell Artists Watercolour pencils used to detail trees and snow capped mountains. Inks & watercolour pencils [in progress]

Was mucking round with distress inks in blues & greens on a pale blue card base - when I lay it down on my work desk it was beside my watercolour pencils and I started to see the scene take shape so I gave it a go....

Now am thinking if I have a quotation or sentiment to suit... will think about it overnight and see what happens... so not hooking up to any challenges at this time...
