Sympathy Owl

Had a request for a sympathy with an owl on it - the recipient loves owls so the requester thought it would be nice...

In amongst all the borrowed stash I found this Stampin Up owl but thought it was a bit cheerful - so embossing white on white and then distressing with different shades of brown I thought helped bring things down a notch...

The sentiment stamp is from Our Daily Bread Designs
"May time heal your heart and memories comfort your soul"
The flowers and pearls are from my stash.

  2. I am so glad you gave us a close up of the owl card, it is lovely and that owl is just gorgeous. Love the tone on tone effect you have created, which is very soothing and appropriate for a sympathy card.

  3. Hi Maureen, I finally had a chance to get back for a visit. I love the look of this card. The owl _is_ unusual for a sympathy card, but I think your recipient is going to love it for the unique touch that speaks directly to her(?him). The little owl will remind the person of her special love for this creature, and the beauty of the soft colors of the card will comfort the soul. I really liked your idea of distressing him for a more somber look and the pretty flowers were a wonderful complement to the sweet little owl. Your ODBD sentiment is quite wonderful. TFS (oh I checked to be sure I saw 'me' in your following list. I still have to hunt to find you, as I can't get to your google thing as I'm not in your circle. Or anyone's as far as I know! LOL
